How to live in different countries

When I have a walk down the street, then after returning home I usually find a layer of street dust on my shoes. This shows that our streets aren't cleaned best.
It would be interesting to know how is with the cleanliness of the streets in other cities. I heard that a pave is being washed with shampoo somewhere. This is wonderful at my look, if it's really so.
