Swiss Economy Minister said that his country should not blindly copy the sanctions imposed against Russia by the European Union. This was a statement of Johann Schneider-Amman for the Schweiz Am Sonntag newspaper.
According to him, joining the tougher sanctions will not only weaken the position of Switzerland as a neutral country and limit the scope for action in the future, but also may negatively affect its own economy.
Johann Schneider-Amman said that Switzerland in the spring had made their own sanctions lists, largely identical to those introduced in the European Union, but further steps in this direction Bern is not going to do.
