Ruin vision

Quick question here, just want to be sure:

If a ruin regenerates, does the ruin show as unsearched in fog of war or must it be "seen" to show as updated?

IE I sometimes leave a bat by L3 ruins to "watch" them but I am thinking that is now unnecessary.

It should update for all players, regardless of vision or not. (You should see the ruin marked on the minimap in the news popup also)
