ok, as a warlords clone the game is ok, since its warlords, an old game that looks old and all that....

but as something else it does not cut the cheese - because it looks old you wont get many new players, and because it feels strange you wont get many old players.

You once said you wanted to prove to yourself that you can make everything with java (or whatever that was) and you wanted to try it with warlords - yet you have not achieved your goal, eg the pathfinding is so bad that you can hardly claim you can do it with java (not to talk about all the other bugs I experienced) - now you change everything to something strange that is neither new nor old. I expect it to work as bad as the beta 3 of the warlords clone did and to look as ugly as warlords does today.

I wonder a bit why you justify things with 'people that have tested' and that are not the people here, sounds super strange to me, as if you needed an argument.

zorro i think youre being a bit unfair here. Other than a few port and mountain issues the pathfinding is pretty darn good. It works perfectly 95% of the time.

I dont think beta 3 is bad at all and in fact really enjoy it. Youre allowed to give your opinion but I have to disagree with you on a few of your points.

We are still calling it beta so there are things that require work left. Pathfinding is fixed in beta4.

If you refer to people having trouble understanding the buy units and train units page in beta3 the reason the people here is not the best measure is because they have played warlords so they already know.
We have to look at someone who never played warlords if we want to know what can be hard to understand.
Asking here is great for other things, but if we only follow the forums opinion it seems like we will make a exact copy of W3 and then stop there.

About the graphics, I wish we had more money to spend on that but I think it looks pretty nice for a webgame. Not to compare with a .exe game. If I look at other titles from the top webgame companies with about 1000+ times as much money as us our game still look okay in my opinion.

I know B4 have many improvements that I think everyone here will enjoy.

To me the changes sounds awesome. Opens up many new ways for team play and overall expansion strategies. Sounds great. Hopefully it will be too.
Don't se the problem with buying buildings instead of units either. Same shit, different pixels. As long as there is not Heroes of m a m-complex it should just put some spice to the city-managing.

I agree with Ken, The game play is everything, with minor pathfinding issues, that it should be. The graphics are not meant to be out of this world, it is a strategy game at its core and those who want to be wowed with overpriced visuals are not going to be engaging in this game to begin with. Give credit where credit is due, the developers are working their butts off with little thanks and fewer paychecks. I just hope that when it scales up and when money starts coming in the players playing today will be grandfathered in. :)
