Loophole or cunning strategy?

Postby Enigmatic » Fri Dec 16, 2011 3:58 pm

Firstoff i'm unsure wheter this would be the correct choice to post in.

In a current game i'm partaking there an odd situation arised. In a borderline fight i encountered a lvl6 hero with a bonus to lead of +7. He fought my suprised army of a lvl5 hero and won the fight. Just the next turn as i probed him for a possible counterattack i noticed he just gotten a +18 lead now. He reasons he had asigned his points afterwards and received (probably out of thin air) powerful artifacts. Is he playing fair? Can an Admin/GM supervise the game? Its game id is 3944.

The enemy hero may have one (or more) items that give a command bonus in defense. There are quite a few of these items, and some are very powerful.

I know... but the hero gotten them without any trace of a ruin opened or even a nearby hero courier if one would think of this. He *might* have had in his backpack of course :P (quite cool to have such things in backpack to do a battle with a realistiic chance to loose and afterwards equip them)

I don't deny the possiblity but ask the sanity of such a procedure. This smells foul!

As I understand it: In the first battle the enemy hero attacked you. That being the case, any items that provide a command bonus in defense would not provide any bonus (because the hero is attacking, not defending).

I don't understand why you are talking about heroes carting items around in their backpacks. Did you attack that hero previously? :?

To reiterate, some items only provide a bonus when the hero in possession of said item is defending. They do not provide any bonus when that hero is the attacker.

Magican,

There are also items that provide a bonus when attacking only.

But in the case Enigmatic is describing it's clear these would have had to be defending items.

Enigmatic,

A L5 hero could potentially have +10 bonus (you get +3 at L3 and L5). So with only +7 it means they definitely didn't spend all their points. So that hero could be +10 simply by spending his points. The other 8 very likely indeed came from items. There are a LOT of command-when-defending bonus items.

I decided to take a look and its like magian suggested. It's an item giving bonus when defending.
