Penalty for stale/partial turns?

Is there any drawback for stale turns?

Suppose I do my entire turn as normal, but then just omit pressing the "End Turn" button, since I know that I won't be able to play tomorrow, and that little extra time is just enough for me to avoid a true stale turn. Will there be any drawback? Will all moved units and production orders remain as I have issued them?

Of course, the statistics will register a stale turn, but in reality, I already moved all my units anyway, so it would not really be a stale turn - unless there is some kind of penalty implemented.

Currently no penalty as such, but if you miss 3 turns in a row you will be kicked out of the game.

This is something that might be changed in future versions though, but it will be informed in that case.

Maybe there could be the option for a "timed" end-turn. I find myself in Chazar's predicament from time to time, and I play my turn out to the fullest except for hitting the "End Turn" button b/c I know I can't play the next day at all (I know, don't play 1-turn games if this is the case).

When I do this, I usually just get on my iPhone to get into the game the next morning just to hit the "End Turn" button.

But if there was a "time" ability to End Turn, it could allow us to say when to end it before getting the missed turn count. For example, End Turn when 1 hour remains on turn.

Thanks for the answers! I only intend to have a single stale turn anyway - I had setup the game with a 2 day limit, so one stale turn covers the weekend.

I don't like the idea of allowing a timed end-turn. It's too convenient for "griefing".
