RUIN REFRESH RATE?! PLEASE HELP!

Quick question for the Warbarons community:

How quickly do level 1, 2, and 3 ruins "refresh." Is it a set time? Is it random? If it is "random" on what does the randomization depend? Thanks!

quickly - its random. there is a code for it. IDK it. its somehwere here in the forum...

Thank god there is at least a hint at where in the map the ruin being refreshed is. Before that, on a large 150 x 150 map with a lot of ruins, no way in hell of finding the one that refreshed without spending way too much time looking.

Yeah I wish Warbarons would do what War2/DLR did and have a Ruin menu that shows unexplored ruins in one color and explored ruins in another one. It would also be nice if the messages about ruins regenerating were listed in a scrolling list in that same menu. This would make another nice user interface bonus for Silver/Gold users :)

P.S. I seem to recall that the message about when a ruin regenerates depends on whether that ruin is in the FOW or not. I say that because in many games I get no message and yet when I unfow a previously explored ruin I see it's now unexplored again.

I seem to recall a ruin screen being a wish list item and that it will come at some point.

Is the randomness keyed to ruin level? That is: Do level 1 ruins refresh faster than level 3?

Draxus, yea I was also annoyed by that, so thats why I added the localisation hint :-)

KGB, you should get the ruin regenerated message regardless if the ruin is in the FOW or not.

tyrannicide, if a ruin is generated it is just randomized between all explored ruins, so same chance for level1-3 ruins...

I am definitely *not* getting it in some of my games. So the bug where you sometimes don't get the message still appears to be there. In fact I just saw it happen yesterday in a game where I literally searched a ruin and the very next turn it regenerated and it was only after I moved my hero further away I realized I could have searched it again for a 2nd turn in a row.

Note that this was in a team game so maybe it's related to being in a team game that you don't always get the message.

Here is the code profile from snotling that explains how the refresh rate works:

No worries. Code is a bit messy, but pretty much like this:
If turn < 6 = no repopulate possible
if turn > 5 its a 50% chance of repopulate.
If chance of repopulate check number of explored ruins compared to total number of ruins, thats the chance of one ruin repopulating.

Example:
gameturn 12, we randomize first 50% chance of repopulate:
Lets say we get 43, i.e. we might have a repopulate.
We count number of ruins on map = 50
We count number of explored ruins on map = 8
This give it 16 % chance of repopulate.

So in this case the chance of repopulate was 8% for this turn. (0.5 * 16%)
