What does "next player" mean?

Postby Chazar » Mon May 28, 2012 8:34 am

What does "next player" in the game list really mean?

If I am that next player, does it mean that my own time is running down now?

Is it possible for me to be courteous and wait and still allow the player ahead of me to do his turn?

The player ahead of me did not move in time, twice. Last time I just pressed the red triangle and did my own turn, so the player ahead of me in the turn order got a stale turn. Now this happens again. Since that particular player has earlier in the game delayed his turn upon my request, since I had no time to move, I don't want to force another stale turn if I can avoid it. However, I don't want to receive a stale turn myself either. So does it matter whether or not I press the red triangle?

Ok, my question has answered itself.

Apparently it just takes 5-10 minutes before a stale turn is forced and the countdown is running for the next player. (I did wait about 3 minutes and did a few reloads.)

When I had this question I waited from 5 to 7 and more hours before "next player" became really the next player's turn.

And did the counter start at the beginning then or did it subtract those 5 to 7 hours?

I don't know. May be this was last hours of opponent's turn, may be first hours of my turn. 1-st is probably more true.
Anyway, it was annoying as mosquitoes.

Your time will never start counting down while it says "next player", it is still the current players time - but the turn will be ended any moment by the server (i.e during its next check for expired turn-times)

Thing is that "Next player" message don't let to define how long time left before start of your turn

Igor, if you see "next player", it means your turn should start within a few minutes.
Maybe we should add something to improve this though
