Question on anti-air against hero

Postby ptGamer » Sun Apr 22, 2012 5:26 pm

Hi all,

I was wondering if anti-air bonus ever counts against hero.

Let's say I have a pally (base battle 25, lead 4) with Narya (anti-air morale +10), under which of the following scenarios would the anti-air morale bonus apply when I attack another hero?

(1) When target hero can walk on water alone
(2) When target hero can fly alone
(3) When target hero is mounted on any flying unit, on a "non-walk-able" tile (e.g. mountain)
(4) When target hero is mounted on any flying unit, on any terrain

My intuition says:
no for (1),
yes for (2),
yes for (3), and
no for (4).

Am I close to the how the game reality?

Much thanks for educating me,
pt

PtGamer,

I believe the answer is 'No' to all of them. The anti-air bonus only applies to 'natural' fliers (The reason being that the hero can always chose to be on the ground for his combat and it simplifies the game coding).

I have often flown a hero on an Eagle to attack neutrals containing elves/scouts/eagles and put the hero up front to avoid losing my flying units.
