KGB, I like the idea of shore/water Ruin. We dont have any graphics for it currently though, but we´ll see what we can come up with.

Snotling,

Just take the existing Galleon and edit it to break the main mast in half and then remove a few pixels in the hull so it looks like holes. That should do it. I am sure one of us could make that kind of edit.

I like the idea of the ghost ship/shipwreck ruin.

Playing on High Seas map, I thought it would be a fun experiment to build kraken in my capitol to terrorize the surrounding waters. They have been a huge disappointment. They cannot seem to kill two jonks in a row, and lost one to a blessed bat (over water). A (very specialized) three turn unit should really have a strong impact when operating in its favored terrain. I favour a 3rd wound for this creature (like the mammoth) and/or a strength increase.

Part of the problem is that the kraken can't reduce the strength of weak units below 5, and 25 to 5 doesn't seem to be a reliable margin for victory. Most of the units the kraken needs to target are weak (passing jonks and fliers) so its hefty dose of fear isn't as useful as it would seem to be at first glance. Especially when you consider the Kraken's low strength.

I won't bother to build this unit if it remains as is. The serpent is as strong in water, while being both faster and cheaper to build (and it still isn't a great unit).

I'm trying out the Sea Serpent in Westeros, and it seems to be very handy...

Yeah, I have some serpents swimming through the rivers on the westeros map. They are really fast, but they are quite weak. Not sure if they are worth the 2 turns of production, since they die quite frequently in battles with 1 turn units in jonks. :(

The Kraken has 3 wounds now though, so I'm thinking that is the new best deal at the fishmarket.

Maybe adding a Swarm bonus to Sea Serpents would be the answer to make them worth the cost...Maybe an extra strength of 3 or 4 per Sea Serpent?

Sea Serpents seem like a swarmy bunch...

Yeah, the Kraken is now quite good (the 3 wounds made all the difference). But, the sea serpent is still quite meh. Handy for transporting heroes (on some maps) and decent if you can get your serpents blessed. They are really fast though.

Maybe reduce the serpent's speed a bit and increase strength.

I guess combining kraken with some serpents would give you an extra swift and powerful water army.

I designed water world with the thought of sea serpents in mind. CHeck it out. I wanted to work on the balance before I started edit cities to force the correct units though.

Serpents and Kraken do work well together, but that is 1475 gold and a couple of cities devoted to units that can only attack a limited number of cities. May make sense on a few maps, but probably not most. I'd like to see a one turn aquatic unit (maybe merfolk?), make them slower than the others(12-16 speed), 10 strength and a water bonus.

Ezras, I'll check out this Waterworld of yours. Naming my first hero 'Costner' for sure.
