I don't understand the play stats

On user account pages, there are "play stats" that look something like that:

Ladder stats

FFA:      1 / 1      (50%)

I understand that they're related to the ELO ranking (at least the ladder and total ladder stats), but I fail to get what each number means. I guess that the first 53 / 19 means 53 wins, 19 losses on non-ladder 1v1 games. But in ladder stats, are "17p" and "21p" the current number of points above the 1000 baseline?

Could someone please explain them?

I need to find a place to explain the points. Its like this. When you win a ladder game, say you are 1000 and your opponent is 1000 in rating. Then you will get 16 points for winning. But you will also take from your points pot so if you have 16 points in the 1on1 pot you will get 32 points for winning. If you lose you will still keep the points and lose 16 rating.
You receive a few points per day.

- what are the points between brackets in the play stats box?
- what is that "points pot" to which you refer?

Suggestion for a place to explain the points:
- in a warpedia article, and
- a small [help] link that pops up an explanation in the play stats box, and the same link above the ladder display
