Payments

Postby Igor » Thu May 03, 2012 1:17 pm

This question is separated from theme of discussing units.

Probably everyone understand that all things have their own price. If you wish good thing you ought to pay for it. Free cheese is only inside of mousetrap.

But how to pay? That is a question I will speak below.

There is some ways to pay. If that are local payments, people use cash (may be credit/debet card, I don't know. People in my country use mostly cash, I think).
That about payments outside the country, there are some tested ways. One of them is planed in our site - cards.
Other one is in use by many other sites - international payments systems, one of which is called WebMoney (http://www.wmtransfer.com/).
Very easy to open an account on WebMoney. Very easy to sent money from one account to another. Probably in every country exist offices where is able to put your money on your account or to take your money from your account.
Why we have no account in WebMoney? Why we have no account in another payments system?
What to do if somebody haven't a plastic card, how to pay?

Next question is for what we will pay?
Offered scheme, to buy units, is one of worst of all.
Imagin, someone bought gold membership for... 200 years, he payed... much of credits. So what? Can he play good? No, if he need to buy any units, additional to his membership.

There was a TV programm about such games, which exist for they are produce more and more new items. And people, who wish to be a good player, must buy them because another way they will be beaten by others, who already bought such items.
I guess that three heroes, offered for credits, will not be last. After them will be else and else new credits-buy heroes/units/items.
I think that is very defective practice. And we must define, are we one of such games or not.

But if not for that, but for what to pay credits?
I can offer some ways.
1. Member's payments - silver/gold (already realized).
2. Limitation of current games. 2-3 games are free and 4-th and more if for some credits each. Player don't necessarily must be a silver/gold member to play many games if he pay for each of them.
3. Additional options, such as 'Find player' system, where you write a name and you will get open page with his account. May be 30 last battles of all players etc.
4. Ability to play speed games. Only for silver/gold members.
5. Toll maps (is like toll roads). To play on this map cost some credits.
Etc.

If you interested of site reputation, don't offer to buy units.
Everyone may have his own vision. Mine is above.

If total money are not enough, lets look at raising price.

Let's count how much credits player must to buy per month.
1500 for gold membership per 90 days = 500 per 30 days.
To get 2 of 3 disbalanced hero = 500 x 2 = 1000 (by the way, 500 is cost for what a period of time?)
Total 500+1000=1500 credits per month. Right, or a mistake is here?
1500 credits cost 10 euro.

So, payment per month is 10 euro.
Why don't do 1500 credits (=10 euro) as a payment for gold membership without buying any units?
That would be honestly and clear.

Igor, I'm not sure I'm understanding what all you are trying to get at in these posts.

Also, I was under the impression that the new heroes would be available to everyone. There will not be any in-game advantages for being a silver or gold member, just functionality and greater amount of games playable at one time.

I think that payments for membership ought to be, and for some options which is not influence on game. And no units being sold.
And to apply a popular way for payments, Webmoney, without any card.
More details is above.

Igor, you can use paypal to buy credits if you wish. So you don't have to use a credit card, although you will at least need a debit card.

If you can use cash to transfer to a WebMoney account in a office, couldn't you transfer it to a PayPal account just as easily?

About the heroes, its not a subscription, you buy them once.

Piranha, would be very nice if you discuss new heroes with top 10 players of the ladder. I guess that some testers, who don't play many games but mostly speak on the forum, they don't quite understand that this hero is a problem much more than demon. Horse Lord will be indispensable.
Speak with best players of last/current season to see this.
(Sorry for offtop)

WebMoney offices send money inside the same country to the owner's account, they can't make a foreign transfers. After that owner can send from his account to other account across the border. This is why that is world-wide system.

Really I don't know why you don't open an account there if it is so easy...
But untill you get such account I probably ought to go to a bank to open a debet card specially for payments to Warbarons.
What card it must be? What I need to say in bank? I never payed across border other than internet payment system. What card I need to open?

I saw PayPal some months ago when I wished to send a little sum to kickstarter. They asked a card, but I haven't a card for foreign transfers (debet or credit).
I am interested to know what card it must be, to describe it in bank.

Igor, you need a major credit card or debit card. Visa or something else internationally recognized.

Ok I'll start looking at adding WebMoney as an option.
