Anti-flying bonus

Hi. I have a question. If I have a hero that is on a flyer (eagle, griffin, dragon, whatever), is the hero a flying unit when it fights an elf or some other unit with an anti-flyer bonus?

No.
The one place I am not sure about is if you take the walk on water/always fly skill. If you take the Always Fly you may be vulnerable to anti-air (it would make sense if you were).

It is not a flier when riding. I don't know if it is a flier when it has the always-fly bonus (I assume the same logic would apply: the hero can choose to fight on foot).
