I cannot change fight order. it says that it's going to change before next battle (but it's never the case), and then window appears that you must be gold member to do it? So do I have to pay to be able to change unit order during attack/defense?

There are 2 fight orders.

One in the stack menu area. That one lets you re-order JUST that stack. You must be a gold member to use that one.

The other one is at the top under the Order drop down. That one changes the fight order for all your stacks. You can use that one.

Just a small correction, the gold member quick fightorder re-arranges all your stacks also. Its just a convenient shortcut. There is no such thing as unique stack fightorder.
