Lower experience gained

In game 32896 my stack with paladin as only hero killed a scout during the opponents move. My paladin has now exp=37. I had the impression that my hero gained less experience than expected before (the hero was also on the defending side), but of course I can't be sure that really happened. Perhaps it is somehow different from what's written in wiki?

Killing a scout gives you 75 XP. If you are defending its 50% so 37.5 which is rounded downward to 37.
