Next player is null message after most turns

I am playing against 3 computer AI players. Almost every time I end my turn, I receive this message:

"Next player is null.
Press OK to return to the account-page.
7 hours and 23 minutes extra time has been saved for next turn."

After receiving this message, I am stuck in Observer mode for what seems like a random period of time, which could be just a minute or two or a half hour. It makes it difficult to play.

I noticed the problem didn't happen early in the game and has gotten progressively worse throughout the game, even though I have logged out, closed my browser windows, and restarted. This process usually produces no effect (still stuck in Observer mode). On the few times I was able to get back in normal mode, I couldn't say for sure the process actually helped.

Eventually, it lets me back in, but I couldn't tell you why.

I use a Mac Book Pro running OS X 10.6.8 with Safari 5.1.7 (6534.57.2). But I also had the same problem on Google Chrome.

When the server is loaded/or the AI player has lots of stuff to do, he wont execute immediately, but rather after some time (1-30 minutes usually). So I think this is what happens to you, and why you find yourself in Observermode. When you are in observermode, you can probably see that one of the AIs are highlighted below the minimap - indicating it is that players turn.

But anyway, the information popup you are receiving is clearly wrong. It is supposed to inform you which AI players turn it is and approximately how long time you will have to wait. I will investigate this and fix it
