Email for new turn announcement ends up in spam folder

Postby fjutt » Fri May 09, 2014 8:29 am

Hi!

Recently emails from warbarons (new turn announcements) ends up in the spam folder. It has happened both for me and for a friend of mine. We both use Gmail. It could be that some headers are missing (or changed?) that causes this problem. After marking them as not spam the problem is solved, but it might be worth looking into.

Thanks!

Hello fjutt,

Do you mean that previously it worked for you, and just recently it started to go to the spam folder?
We did a small change to the mail-process maybe 1 week ago or something, but I dont think that should have affected the mail headers etc.

Exactly, it has worked perfectly up until maybe a week ago or so, thats why we both noticed it, as it was all of sudden our turn, but we thought we had not received any email about it (and later found the emails in the spam folder). Could be that it is Google that has changed something, but the 1 week ago sounds very much at the time the change happened. Do you send the same headers? From the same machines? Thanks for checking!

Hello,

I compared the headers in my received emails from the Warbarons system (I use gmail also), and I couldnt see any differences in the headers (one mail is sent via cronjob, while other is sent by user activating the page).

Do you see anything strange in your received headers?
Or did the system accidently send several emails to you in a short time, triggering your spamfilter?

I am in three games, so I get maybe 2-5 emails a day, when people are active, but nothing that would trigger a spam filter. And I let google host my domain, so I do not even have my own mail filter, just use the one gmail uses (the mx pointers for my domain point to gmail). It is strange this happened to me and my friend, but not to everyone. I guess it can be ignored, as we have marked the messages as not spam and now get them in the inbox :).
