A couple of bugs

Postby KGB » Fri Jan 06, 2012 5:36 am

I played the Small World Tutorial against the AI to test something and I noticed the following things:

1) The winning % for the scenario says I need 80%. However I needed 95% of the cities before I won.

2) When I win the game instead of getting the 'I won' pop up, I got a 'next AI turn will be in X' minutes. However the X was blank because the AI was never going to take another turn (note that at this point the server was not busy so I was never having to wait for turns as I did when I started a couple of hours prior so I was surprised to see this pop up). When I went back to the account page I saw the game was over. Re-entering the game then displayed the ' I won' pop up.

3) The most annoying bug was discovering I can't attack through my own units even though I can technically move to the square to attack. X,x=me, Y=enemy. I had XxY. I wanted stack X to attack Y. I have enough moves to do it but the game won't let me pass through my own stack x because it appears the combat routine requires stacks to be right next to each other. At this point I could not move stack x because it was out of moves so I could not attack even though I could reach Y (I could not go above/below x because that terrain was passable).

Bugs in tutorial game:

1) I also surpassed 80% threshold without victory, in spite of stated conditions.

2) Confirmation for this bug, same situation.

4) All units ending movement on a port, including ships, now pull up the ship creation screen. There should perhaps be an option to covert ships to land units, or land units to ships, or to decline action. I suppose ships ending movement in port could have the additional option of upgrading, if that is the intended game mechanic? Also, sea movement mapped for land units converting to ships at the port is executed without stopping at the port and accessing the ship creation screen, automatically converting them into the weakest naval option as they pass through. Finally, units converted from ships into ships via the method first described follow the same rules as land units converted to ships: they are reduced to 2 movement, and they cannot become land units in that turn. So it is a problem both when attempting a landing, and when someone loses their movement points if they had intended to continue further over water.

I don't think this is worth a separate topic:
"Super Armies" tutorial ended after one round of movement. So... can't accomplish anything in it. Incomplete?

Not sure what you mean about the Super Armies tutorial.

There are 4 separate battles to attempt there:

1) Ghost stack
2) Hv Cavalry stack
3) Stack without Devil/Archon
4) Stack with Devil/Archon

Then finally you move the scout to the portal to end the tutorial.

All 4 attacks should complete in 1 turn. There isn't a 2nd turn to do anything. It's meant to show the power of Ghosts (battle 1) , Terrain bonus (battle 2), no bonus (battle 3), Negate (battle 4).

If you click on the signs in each battle area you get instructions on what to do and what to expect to see/learn.

Signs serve a purpose? Neat! I thought they were just ambiance. Thanks!
