Move stops when spotting Neutral Units

Postby KGB » Sun Oct 02, 2011 4:50 pm

I thought that in Beta4 there was going to be a fix so that your units no longer stopped their movement when spotting neutral units in the FOW? That doesn't appear to be working.

It's extremely annoying on maps with lots of neutral units in cities and other locations to endlessly have your move path stopped by neutral units in the fog. Especially since on Firefox the game is dreadfully slow (I know, I know, Chome. But I can't always install Chrome on someones computer just to play a Warbarons turn. So eventually you guys are going to have to fix the slowness on other browsers even if it's just to instantly drop the unit at it's location instead of moving it each square) and I end up minimizing the browser and maximizing again in order to speed up the move (takes 1-2 seconds instead of 20 seconds when the browser is minimized).

If you have explored those units before, they should not trigger the auto-stop when moving in on them again.
If it is the first time you see them on the map, you will be auto-stopping.
Hope this explains how it works :-)

Snotling,

That's exactly how it's working.

Any chance it could change (maybe with a game option) to simply always ignore neutral units? I could care less about neutral units since I *always* know where those are on a map since they are fixed locations.

It will probably come as a game-option/setting in beta5.
