Not sure if this is by design but can you only buy sea serpants and krakens in cities that are next to water?

I figured you would be able to next to swamps as well? Turns out you can't. Also why not be able to build them anywhere? I would love to be able to build them deep behind the lines and send them to the front. I think you should be allowed to build them in any castle.

This is currently by design.
We are discussing how to make it the best way though.
As to make it easy for beginners its good they can only be built next to water (so you dont get stuck in a inland-city with them). On the other hand for more experienced players it would be nice to teleport them from inland cities to the seaside cities.

I think keep it the way it is:

1 - It helps beginners.

2 - It feels fairly logical.

I agree with Jeremy.. sea serpents and kraken need water to grow, then that they can enter a portal is ok, but I wouldn't see them well, being produced on a mountain. Imo they could also be produced in towns with access to swamp, other than to the sea, but maybe it would complicate things for beginners, as you say

I mostly agree with the above, but I think they should be purchasable in swamp cities as well.
