SnotlinG,

Game 1292. I did see those neutral units Elemental/Archon in the fog that you see on the screen shot.

I don't see them now but then it's not my turn right now. So I'll have to check again on my turn and see what I see.

And on my turn I can again see some neutral units. I see the same ones I saw in the prior screen shot. I also see these ones as well.

I don't recall if they were there when my turn started or if they became visible during my turn. Next turn I'll look at the start of the turn and figure out when they become visible.

But as soon as my turn ends all the units in the fog disappear. During my turn, I did unfog 2 cities and 1 ruin (that had a dragon on it). So I wonder if somehow the map is unfogging those other cities/ruins at the moment I unfog a different position. Either thinking they have the same id (maybe a city/ruin placed in the editor, undone then placed again?) or the same map x,y co-ordinate.

How do I play this map? I did not see it as an option, looks sweet!

It's a private map.

That means you have to wait till the author makes a game available using the map.

I assume this map will eventually be submitted for general use after it gets tested once. There are several games going on right now on private maps as part of testing map balance.

KGB, do you remember if you had any path for a unit drawn to the bottom right corner before you got the outofsync/before you did see any neutral units?

For your next turn, was all those units visible directly at the start of your turn? (or was it after any move/outofsync/reload of the game)

When it is your next turn, could you not login and instead let me know and I´ll login as you and try to trace the issue.

SnotlinG,

Bottom right - no. Bottom left (where I started) - yes.

In fact this map has a city literally in the bottom left corner of the map and makes armies there that are always hard for me to select due to the game control icons being drawn over the left side of the city (and I am running in 1900x1200 mode) so I have to click literally 1 pixel off the controls to grab 'invisible' units.

I have since played 2 more turns. The problem of the units appearing has not re-occurred in either turn. That's probably related to the fact I am no longer making paths to the bottom left corner because I own that city now and instead just make a path to the port that lies beyond it.

Before my next turn, I'll let you know. The game is moving well so it could easily be today when you get a chance.

Ok, sounds good. If it is OK i might use one of your units to try to reproduce the issue.

Let me know when its your turn.

Thanks!

Thanks,

I noticed earlier today and have already checked and (hopefully) fixed both the FOW bugs :-)
One was the problem when moving close the the bottom of the map.
Other bug was that you could accidently get a bit too much information from cities/ruins in the FOW depending on your movement path.

So you can resume your game there, thanks for the feedback!

ps, I might have moved 1-2 of your light inf units. One probably have a lot of move left though :-)
