Attack on water

Postby Draxus » Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:57 pm

It may just be me but when a land unit goes to attack an air unit, just off shore, the game spazzes. Now I now this isn't possible and apparently the game knows it too and yells at me when I try. The game sort of freezes for 10 seconds or so, maybe a bit longer and then finally lets me move my guy.

It also seems to show that you can attack the unit when it shows the path with the space on the air unit over water being black and not grey. But when you try to click and execute, it freezes. Maybe I deserve it for trying an illegal move...

The reason it freezes is that the game is trying to calculate a path to the flyer.
I guess the flyer must be standing over water where there is no anchor/dock? Since otherwise it would find a path via the anchor to the flyers position.

When a land unit is ordered to move on mountains, a message pops up and says it's an illegal terrain. When I do the same on a lake (with no docks) or a mountain (selecting a mixed stack with flying/land units) or also with a sea based unit trying to get on land, this pop-up doesn't appear, the browser hangs and takes a long while to become responsive again.. I understand that for shores the game tries to find a path through docks, but for sea based units and mixed stacks trying to go on illegal terrains the same pop-up would work and save time.
