Hi, I have been goofing off with the "hard" 1v1 tutorial, just to experiment with the new heroes. Game ID#6147. I conquered a castle full of minotaurs led by a Dreadknight with my own level 5 Dreadknight stack, and gained 2 levels at once.
The game notified me that my Dreadknight had gained a level, and took me to the hero screen. I saw that I had enough points to gain 2 levels, but that the xp for next level was below my current xp. *shrug*. So I had only 10 hero points to spend, flipped over to Abilities and had 2 Ability points to spend. Apparently I had one left over from before. I spent both in Learning, as I plan to milk this tutorial for all the experience I can get. When I exited the screen, the game immediately informed me that my hero was now level 7, and took me back. I had 20 hero points (yay +fear!), and ...3 ability points. Apparently the game took me to the screen separately for each level gain, and calculated my points separately each time. I suspect that if I had spent the 10 hero points the first time, I would have still received 20 to spend the second time around.
So, I had a level 7 dreadknight with 8UL, 150 learning, and 3/3 terrain movement bonus. I ended my turn, began writing this report, then went to check it out again. My spending from the second time has been reset completely, removing the legitimate +3 Fear and also the broken +3 terrain movement. I have the correct 20 hero points and 1 ability point.
So there are two problems:
1) the game awards points to be spent that don't exist.
2) When the error is detected (?), the game resets all the points sometime after they are spent (maybe at the end of the turn), without informing the player. So I was thinking I had +3 Fear, when it had been removed.
Thanks guys! I hope the report is helpful.
If this is a known bug and the fix is a point reset at the end of the turn, that's a problem. Players shouldn't end their turn thinking their points are well spent and then be left with a weak defending hero whose points have been reset.
