Can no longer add starting troops to a side

Postby Jeremy » Mon Jan 16, 2012 9:02 pm

In Scenario maps, it used to be that one could add starting troops, by assigning ownership to troops you put on the board. The dropdown for ownership appears to have disappeared, so that all placed troops are now neutral, and you can no longer give sides starting units in scenario mode.

Am I missing something, or is this removal a bug?

I believe it is a bug, part of the code doesn't believe it's a scenario. Currently if you change the map to standard then back to a scenario the pop-up menu should re-appear, the down side is all placed units will turn into gray neutrals and will need to have a unit added on to the stack (then taken away) to assign them back to the right sides.

Looks like your maps somehow has lost the maptype (i.e. "scenario" or "standard").
Not sure how you came to lose this, could you describe as detailed as possible the order of creating / saving / loading / submitting your maps ?
I have tried to replicate the problem but no success so far :-(

Further investigation shows its likely this was inherited from a beta4 map.
Have you experienced this issue on a map created from scratch on beta5?

I have fixed all maps missing maptype to have the type of standard. If you have a map with the wrong setting, let me know the mapname and version and I can update it, so you wont lose troopchanges etc
