How big of a coding issue would it be to set the upkeep for Allies that come with heroes/ruin search to 0 (which is how it works in War2-War4)?
It's a major income issue when you hit Allies in a ruin / hero offer far from the front line that may take 8-10 turns to reach the front line. If you get 3 Allies with an upkeep of 15+ a turn that's a 45 gold waste per turn. It really adds up quickly on maps that have limited income.
Most players probably don't realize how much gold they waste when they find Allies in a ruin far from the front line and spend half the game trying to get it into a usable position. They are better off just disbanding them which again makes gold reward that much more superior. In the case of hero offers you've already paid for the unit.
