A couple of features I'd like to see:
1) Keyboard controls. By this I mean being able to use the keyboard to do things that otherwise take a mouse click. For example 'space bar' should select all/deselect all units in a stack. Other keys could automatically (m) move a selected stack along it's path. Others would bring up reports (h-history, a-armies, c-cities, g-gold, s-stack, p-production, v-vector, b-battle report). This saves endless mouse movement/clicking. I can provide a full list if you want more commands I'd like shortcuts for.
2) On my home machine playing in Firefox is dreadfully slow. Yes, I know I could use Chrome. But I like FF and I have Safari installed and don't want a 4th browser I'd just use for Warbarons. So could there be a 'instant move' option players can select. When this is selected the units wouldn't move along their path 1 square at a time but would instead 'instantly' appear at their final movement spot (stopping of course for unfogged units) and update the FOW on the map. This would speed up movement and game time tremendously (right now on a long move path on FF it takes 15 seconds to complete. If I minimize my browser when the move starts and then maximize again 1-2 seconds later the move is already complete. Thus I know all the slowness is drawing the moving stack and moving the map as needed). This is a *must have* feature for speed games when you have 100+ units a turn to move and only 2-3 minutes to do it.
