Dropped out players gold?

What happens with it. In the stats menu, it says it's still there. But I guess it's not. Perhaps it should be equally divided amongst the now neutral cities, so that players who conquer them get the regular gold bonus?

If you are going to give it to neut. cities it should be divided between all instead of just the ones previously owned by the dropping player. Otherwise on FFA whoever is next to the dropping player can get an even bigger bonus. He already has the advantage of easy expansion in that area-he doesn't need extra gold.
