Yes I guess it would be more of a deception, as what you are trying to do would be to convince the opponent to react to the hero they see and not a stack.

I like the idea of a concealed unit (that can only be seen inside a reduced view range). The ranger and assassin could both have access to personal concealment too. Then you could form a stack of concealed units + hero to raid the enemy, but that stack would be comparatively weak.

Invisible+Undetectable is very very powerful. Nobody has good defenders at the back cities and the invisible hero passing through will win the game most of the time. It may become the best item ever.

Remember DLR was a real time game and you could find invisible army by moving the cursor in the map. When you hit a location where the invisible army than the movement became impossible and cursor was changing to a hand. So invisible wasn't undetectable, you could still detect invisible armies. But since it is a real-time game you have limited time and you can actually miss the hero stack so invisibility was still useful.

If there is an item that makes a stack invisible but detectable through impossible movement prompt, than this will be a total waste of time for me. Be cause I will search each and every corner of the visible map to find an invisible army. Since it is not a real-time game, I will always have time and I will always find them.

I think a disillusion item might be good. It reveals the remaining units in a stack so you won't use scouts. To make it more powerful, it may even reveal hero stats as well.
