Additional button for stacks

Postby Negern » Fri Apr 12, 2013 1:21 pm

I'm thinking of a small button that could be added perhaps in the middle of the 8 unit slots. The button would lead to a screen like the "Buy production capability"-screen in cities, but the screen wouldn't have anything to do with a city, it would just be an easy way to look things such as plunder, steps, +stack steps etc up. Perhaps the units in the stack could be highlighted in the screen.
It's possible to just unselect stack, find a city that hasn't restricted production and click to the production-screen there for info, but ah, it would indeed be nice with a info-button that's close at hand!

Also found a very minor "odd" thing, not even a bug. When clicking "inspect hero", it's always either the first one or the one on top of the stack, but if a hero is lower in the fight order with a regular unit on top, that hero won't show up, if it's not the earliest hired hero. The risk of something going wrong because of this is small, but I guess it's still there.

I agree, I often go into a city to do a "fake" production to look at some stats for my units in play b/c my memory is very poor!

How is this idea different from the detailed groups stats info button that is to the upper right among the buttons.

Detailed group stats only gives info about str, ward, ambush etc in different situations and terrains. It does not give info about how many steps a unit has, about upkeep, cost of productions, plunder etc - those things not active in battle. Or perhaps a full screen, just like the one where you can buy production. Perhaps also heroes could be added, so one can see their starting stats.

And btw, talking about heroes, how do you like the idea of another menu under "inspect". A menu where a player can choose a hero, click "level up" for another level and 10 pts, see how many points are needed for this, how many points are needed for that. Sometimes prices change after putting first stats. Ah, maybe this was no good idea after all. Never mind.

Moonknight:

Memory doesn't have to be poor to forget this stuff - it's much to remember. The scout alone has 16 stats, perks etc that a player has to keep in mind. And there are 37 other units, and heroes too!

Yes, I also frequent cities just for the production-buy dialog (or the unit wiki button, also in the city dialogue). I would be nice if those could be accessed directly, without going through a city first.

I would also love to see the initial hero skills of all heroes, as well as their cost progression being displayed!
