City set options

Postby Pillager » Fri Dec 10, 2010 7:51 pm

I was making a map based on the 'Song of Ice and Fire" continent of Westeros. It was all coming together nicely, until it was time to designate the starting cities.... Casterly Rock began to float and drip lava...and Storms End became an Aztec Temple. If anyone else is familiar with the books, perhaps they will feel my pain.

It would be nice if there was another option for cities, for those of us with an aversion to Aztec temples and flying lava dripping demon citadels.

Out of curiosity, what exactly does a heavy cavalryman do when he arrives at the enemy castle and finds it flying in the air dripping lava?

Pillager,

He calls for Dany to fly down with her Dragons to pick him up

This link has an excellent map of Westeros (Click to enlarge) if you haven't already seen it.

Hehe, well right now there is no graphics for other cities but its interesting that you ask for it. Perhaps a different set in the future based on another theme.

A retro set might be nice...based on the OG warlords castles...dwarven rockpile, giant crag, elf tree, skull fortress, ect. I would be happy to whip up a set (if you give me the required specifications).

Pillager, If you want to draw castle graphics it should be like this.

4 main squares that are 64x64 pixel each, then you have border tiles, which is how much the castle go into the next square. Its max 20 pixels into the next square left, down, right and max 64 pixels up.

This is why fantasy games work much better than fantasy films or books.
