Tool to measure distance

Postby Negern » Tue May 24, 2011 8:42 pm

It happens quite often that i find myself counting the distance between two places, ex. an enemy hero and one of my castles. As some of you maybe know, it sucks pretty hard and some of the times it's hard to predict which path will be chosen, most of the times because one doesn't know what's in the stack, but also because of other things. Would it be possible to use a tool to drag a path between the enemy hero and the city, telling the player how many steps will be used to go between? Of course not counting the troops in the stack, but the ordinary path, that the hero would choose if going alone?

What do you think? Do you never find yourselves in these situations, counting the steps between locations?

I already asked basically for the same thing, to be able to turn the grid and the coordinates on and off in a game

I've asked for the same. I'd literally always play with the grid turned on.

More because terrain bleeds into other squares (forest/hills/desert/mountain/hills overlapping open) making it confusing to tell what a square I want to move to or an enemy is standing in has for it's terrain type.

I wasn't thinking I needed the co-ordinates but with team games upcoming it will probably be very useful to say at co-ordinate X,Y I spotted an enemy hero since when your turn ends the fog of war regenerates so that your ally can't see units uncovered during your turn.
