Surrender to Teammate/Ally

It would be nice to have a 'surrender to teammate/ally' option to allow a player who wasn't interested in finishing out a team/FFA game to surrender to another player (teammate or someone they are in a non-aggression pact). Doing this would turn over all cities/armies/heroes/gold to the player you surrender to.

This would be useful in games where one teammate is really bad off (down to 1-2 cities and only a few men) or doesn't want to play anymore/drops out.

Its an interesting idea, but I think we need to consider the effect of it a bit more.
Wouldnt the best strategy for a team then be for all players to surrender to one player, giving him their total gold (to buy dragons /get herooffers)?

I've been thinking about wether it's better for a team to have 2 heads or 1. (Partially in the context of should I spend extra effort to eliminate one head, or should I spread my attacks out between enemy teammates.)

Coordination is much easier it's just one player. You can attack with all available troops -- currently, teammates can't attack as one stack.

There would be no 10% tax transfer for the all-but-inevitable pooling money to buy a Red Dragon (and it's ALWAYS for a Red Dragon)

Hero offers is the one place where multiple teammates have an advantage. If one player has 2 heros, and the other zero, the no-hero player will be offered a hero cheaper and sooner than if they each had 1 hero.

My gut feeling is that such a formal surrender option may not be a great idea. I could cause one teammate to 'surrender' on team 1 -- and that 'team of one' might be considered to have too much of an advantage.

You could make it so that you can't 'surrender' before turn 10 (unless someone times out by not playing their turns in which case they should auto-surrender rather than just lose a teammate from inactivity). There is no reason for someone to surrender before turn 10 in a team game.

Having only one player has another disadvantage. Teams with 2 players get 2x as many hero offers (both players can get one where the single player can only get 1) and thus 2x as many ally chances.

If you want to tax the gold (and again, I'm against taxing official team mates since they are a team, gold transfers should just take 1 turn and be limited to X amount max where X increases over turns) at surrender time you can do that.

Incidentally, I wanted this more for FFA games I am tired of playing in (happens in longer stalemate type games I find boring) and rather than outright resign I'd like to just transfer all my cities/gold/units to another player of my choice instead of forcing them to send 1 crow to all my cities, have me empty them etc.
