Old maps

Some updated have been made to maplistings. Some maps were gone because our query missed them. I've also added a new list option, old maps. Old maps just show maps that have been playable before but haven't been updated to work with current version of the game. In case one of your favourite maps is listed there you can always ask the map owner to republish or share the map.

Great work there. Quite a few maps showed up that were being missed.

The 'old maps' section has some maps there that I'd forgotten about. Some of those are by authors who no longer play or certainly I haven't seen them in a while. Maybe they could be made public so someone could update them?

One small request. There are so many official maps now (11+ pages) that it takes a long time to look through them all. I wonder if it might be possible to break them down further either by size: small, medium, large where small, medium and large are defined by the total number of squares (so a 100x50 map at 5000 is considered same category as 75x75 at 5600). Make the cutoff points say small: 7000 and less, medium 7001- 10000 and large 10000+. Or alternatively it might be nice to be able to sort by map popularity (ie how many times a map has been played).

A filter according to the numbers of players or player setup would be really nice to have!

For example, our team agreed upon a 4vs4 team match, and now we want to see all maps that allow such a setup.

I agree that the map browsing could be improved. I'd like to have a better overview over the maps. I'll write it down and see when I can fit it in.

It would be nice if you could browse maps by map-maker as well.

I've been gone a while, but if anyone wants access to my maps let me know if there is a function I can use now to share with others to publish.

Hi

You can set your map to shared in the editor and save and publish it again. It will allow others to continue work on your map. I will probably do that with my maps that have fallen behind.

When home internet is up (in the midst of my second move since being away from the community) I plan to contribute again. I tend to overcommit and have to pull back, so it'll be reserved but I'll build maps again at least. Later!
