Yeah, individual freeze time seems like a solution to me. I would also prevent players from moving units after they have hit 'end turn'.

Individual freeze times would still suffer from time zone problems. If I'm asleep when you end your turn, a couple of hours of freeze time won't help me.

Individual freeze times may not be a perfect solution. However, longer individual freeze times would have far less impact on game speed that a longer general freeze time (general meaning that it is applied to all players).

I really think the only reasonable solution for simultaneous play is to pick a fixed time for turns to end, specified at the game's creation.

Well one thing is I think you really should not tell the last person how long the freeze time is, as that really gives them a bonus if they want to try and get a 2 turn.

Individual freeze times are not perfect but A LOT better than what we have now. I already encountered several situations where the opponents tried to pull a double move.

Are they possible to implement?

Individual freeze times will come in next version (v0.91), which will be a much smaller update, and therefore we should be able to release it within a few weeks is our current estimate :-)

I am not entirely sure if the timing is same for each player or not. Let's say it is a day to move game. The first turn I moved in 20 hours and my opponent in 22 hours. So if I have 4 hours added to play the next move which means that now I have 28 hours and my opponent has 26 hours. If this is the case, that means that whoever finishes early one round has potential to finish late the next. That would sound fair. I am not sure if that's the case.

Nevertheless I decided not to play simuls for ladder anymore. Too much stress and uncertainty. Especially Valkyrie fights are critical to whoever attacks first.

Yes, tried simultanious play now, and I found out that importent moves are done within 10 seconds repeatedly from start of turn. Increadible. Only by luck I happend to see this 2 times in a row as I was home sick. Difficult to meet.
Also a surprise when units attacked during movement as now happens. Internet connectivity is suddenly importent.
A tip is to move as one group instead of 2 (that optimize movement points). Aparently seconds count here also.

What update is there to Simul play?

It appears freeze times are no longer same for both players. My opponent and I had different freeze times. He unfroze first and took advantage of me. I couldn't find the info on this in the wiki (which seems very old now).
