125*125, 8 starts.

Have tried to make a fast playing map with much action in mid to late game. Have tried to design the map so that there is no real center, making it harder to attack the center starting positions, giving the corner starts less advantage. Starting areas differ in strenghts and weaknesses. I don't believe it's well balanced, but it will hopefully be fun to play.

Negern,

153 cities!!! That's too many by about 40-50.

Maps like this tend to take WAY too long to finish. For example even if you can capture 2 cities a turn it's a 61 turn game (need 122 cities). And it's very very doubtful anyone will average 2 cities a turn once the game gets to the stage of battling other players.

Then there is the issue of moving hundreds of units and the time it takes to do it. In the mid to late game it becomes a chore rather than fun.

Well, we can just hope a player knows when to resign, so the finale won't be about getting 80%, just outplaying the opponent. :) But it will take a long time to finish the map, and late game will have much vectoring and moving around troops. It's the same on most large maps with many cities. Not so fun to set vectors etc, but the good parts with large maps tend to outweigh the bad parts.

There is a lvl1 ruin with 1 pegasi + sign "A pegasi waits inside the ruin" next to every starting area. It will speed things up. Hopefully not too much.

The saving grace on the map size is not allowing 1x1, or 2x2. This makes it play more like a large 2x2 map. On a 4x4 each player needs to get only about 35 cities for your team to win. Still a little high, but manageable.

The FFA and 2x2x2x2 might get a little more tedious as the game extends. If so You might delete those options from the next version, just see how play goes and if it is enjoyable for participants.

Thanks for opinions. Have been playing two test games (ffa) on it and kind of agree with your opinions (it's good, but tedious. Like eating shrimps  ).
