Online poker is back to USA?

Today have heared by TV (RBC canal, CNN based), that USA government thinks to let online poker to be legal again in USA. As the reason is big taxes to the budget. Central government think to let every state to make own decision about let or not let.
Does somebody else heared about that?

That can't be regulated at state level. Once legal in one state it will be practically legal in every state. I think this offers absolutely no benefit to state governments since the tax will be mainly a federal tax. Also the state that allows casinos will be pressured by the casinos not to allow it and the states that prevent casinos will prevent online casinos as well. So I wouldn't be hopeful.

Also there is the money transfer angle which involves the national security agency. Online poker can be a good way to internationally transfer funds for illegal activities.

I think US wants a US based company to operate online poker site under the watchdog of FBI and paying US corporate Tax. Until than.............
