Custom Emblems

It would be sweet if we could create our own custom emblem (our shield design). It'd be kind of like having an avatar in the games, something that uniquely identifies a member. Seems like an easy thing to integrate...

I like this a lot. But some weird fantasy unrelated stuff some people would paint for their emblems would disturb me. I hate mixing up high fantasy with anything else.

I was just thinking about how you could create your own in Warlords with three options to modify it:

1. Base color (one of the eight available)
2. Main Picture (e.g. Moon Crescent, Metal Fist, Dragon, etc.)
3. Background (e.g. Cross, Single Slash, Fire, Lightning Bolt, etc.)

Which ever color you set it at would take place of the default emblem for that color and the castle-type that comes with that color.

You'd only be able to select your custom emblem if no one in the game has chosen the same base color.

Aha. Sorry to have misunderstood. I thought you meant every user would be able to upload their own graphic. Yes, this concept is great, I liked it a lot in DLR.

I don't see a problem with pushing total personalization when it comes to shield icons and even hero icons.

Someone would have to monitor those icons to make sure they weren't offensive.

Where should these emblems be used?

At first I thought it should be a replacement for the shields we have now to indicate who is doing a turn but that would make it hard to know which shield is which color.

Is it like an avatar used on the profile page and on the ladder list and so on?

Let me bring this topic up again, but in a variation...

I think it would be cool for official Teams to have their own custom Emblem (not color mind you, just the logo). The team emblem would only be in play for ladder team games.

Just like you could in Warlords2...
