Uninvadable city

Postby Sanity » Mon Apr 25, 2011 10:31 pm

Hey
In the test game races test game, there's a city i can't invade.

The error occured as i attacked the city, and then got an out of sync error. As the game didn't seem to catch up i clicked back to account and re-entered the game. There my army appearently had won the battle as it was standing on one of the four city spaces, the neutral army was gone but the city was still neutral. I stepped out and in on the city and when i do this, i get out of sync again. Have tried a few times with same result.

chrome on win 7.

Related bug report: a city was razed. I killed the units standing on the razed city, leaving one unit of Griffins in my army. Next turn I noticed the minimap showed yellow where the Griffins were, not white (my color). I tried to move some units through there, but they hung up. So I selected the Griffin and found that he had a heavy infantry which I could group, ungroup, and create move paths for. I didn't want to fool with it so I just moved the Griffin and killed yellow's heavy infantry. Probably a related bug along with these other out-of-sync deals lately.

It now seems it has happened to others in the same game. I stumpled upon a neutral city amidst a foes territory. I attacked it with my crow and got it. (leaving it for an easy capture for my foe, doh!). And now the city i couldn't invade just got captured by another player, not by a crow. So now the enemy has a castle close to the core of my territory. I hope this get fixed, but i understand that it's almost impossible to find out where the bug is. I just hope it dissapears by itself in the next update.

Sanity,
I just fixed the map "races" in one place where the city of Troy was broken so it could not be occupied.
So if you are playing on that map, it is because of this.

Yes, in Beta4 Im adding "sanity"-checks of maps when they are Finalized, to make sure there are no "ghost towns"
