Ships' battle skill restrictions not working.

I attacked a djonk with 3 units on board, giant yeti and dread knight, all had their normal battle values, no restrictions. I had a light infantry unit gameid is 3486.
Has anyone else noticed that ships do not affect battle skill? It's like my first seabattle so I dont know whether it's a bug or it is always like that.
