Heros can't swim

I used a flyer to bring my hero out into the water. I separated the flyer from the hero and the hero didn't turn into a boat like other non-flyers do. when i select the hero, it automaticly gives him a 'movement path' back onto land. when i execute that move I get the "the game is out of sync with the server" error

Hmm, this one I can´t repeat. How did you do this, was it all in the same turn, or was there a turn in between?
You didnt get any screenshot of it?

i did it all in the same turn. if you separate them and then try to move the hero the next turn, he is just stuck there like he would be in the mountains.

hero and flyer on the land. move one space into the water (not on a dock)
Move the flyer off the hero
select the hero

Pretion,

You are lucky because by the rules your hero should have drowned!

Flying Heroes may not be separated from fliers over water or they drown. It's only OK to separate them over land (even on mountain where they remain stuck till another flier arrives).

haha, it would be funny to see a drowning animation. i would kill all my heros just for a laugh :)

btw, i'm doing all this strange stuff on purpose. i'm looking for bugs :)

Aha, I will try it out later and see if I can repeat it... Can you repeat it then, or was it a one time thing happening?

KGB, I think we have a slightly diffrent drowning approach, here we check at the end of the players turn, so it is possible to be killed of to only 1 hero remaining in water in the enemies turn, and then you have your own turn to try to reach the hero with a boat or flyer, otherwise he drowns...

yeah, i did it 3 times with different flyers and different heros.

You are correct. if you don't save your swiming hero after one turn, he drowns

SnotlingG,

That's an interesting change you have made to the drowning rules. I like it. Though it makes no sense the hero could survive a fall from the sky regardless of whether a boat was nearby.

Two things:

1) If the hero was flying he should not be able to be rescued by a boat since a hero can't normally convert to a boat from a flier. Or are you allowing boat/flier conversions over water (because that's what you are doing if you go from flying to a boat rescue)?
2) In the combat screen I take it that the hero still fights last instead of having him fight before his last flier as is done in Warlords 2/DLR? If so, this leads me to ask about having heroes put into the fight order so that I could order my hero to fight before a single bat so that I didn't lose my flying bat if that was my only means of living (ie I had no boats/fliers nearby to rescue me if the bat died).

you can set the heros fight order, or maybe i'm misunderstanding you.

1) Its possible for a hero to be picked up by a boat (or flyer) over water. He will not convert to a boat in either way, so you will actually have a land-hero in your boatarmy, and can then sail to the shore where hero can jump to land. This is intentional :-)

2) Hero fightingorder can be set, actually the diffrent hero types can be set to diffrent fightorders, so it might be good to have diffrent herotypes from thisperspective...
