Hero on a dock - BETA3

Postby Pretion » Sat Jun 19, 2010 4:50 pm

I had a hero and a flyer together.
i stopped on a dock
i moved the flyer off the dock and left the hero on the dock

Result:
Even though the move onto the dock took all but 2 of my heros move points, the hero didn't turn into a boat. i had to move the hero off the dock and then move him back on to have him turn into a boat.

with non-hero units, they turn into a boat when a flyer drops them off on a dock. - this is what i would expect should happen with a hero too.

Aha, this is actually intended and cost me lots of work and tears ;-)

As the converstion to land/sea happens when a landunit walks to the anchor, i thought it made most sense that a hero that flyes to an anchor is not converted. Most likely the hero is just flying by and dont want to be converted, at least that was how I was thinking.
We could change it if it makes more sense to be converted even when arriving to the anchor by a flyer?

ok i understand and that is consitand with the other 'flying hero' behavior. however, if you don't get converted, i don't think you should loose your move points.

You are right, its a bug in the client, it shouldnt cost any movepoints. If you do such a move and then reload the game (without ending turn), you will see that the hero has the correct number of move left. I will fix this in the client to beta3.

Thanks
