Bidding mercenaries contract

Postby Horyu » Tue Apr 17, 2012 11:09 am

I would like to see player can recruit bid mercenaries contract prompt by random event and the advantage is appear to the location where you wanted to deploy to. This restricted to high level creature only and when contract expired system will prompt you to renew contract or not.

eg. 2 vampires have 5 turn duration contract which cost 100 gold

if above 2 vampires die in combat the mercenaries contract ceased. if above 2 vampires left 1 vampire survive in combat contract continue and player still will pay 100 gold even is under-strength.

That's cause you are trying to look at them in the mirror. Silly maze, they are not Medusa. :D

This brings up the all-important question: How on earth is one supposed to fight vampires and medusae together? If you know there is a medusa present, then you have to check every suspicious thing with a mirror, which of course is like blinding yourself to vampires... The whole mirror thing, and then everyone knows garlic attracts basilisks, so you've got this nasty kind of catch-22 going on...

I'm thinking something along the lines of one of those clown flowers, only it must be rigged with holy water. Then any attempt to reach the jugular results in a healthy dose of sanctification for the offending party! That way you can safely utilize your mirror to keep an eye out.

Your thinking like a Human: Fight in the Dark like Dwarves/Elves/Orcs etc using Infra/Ultra vision.

Again, what game are you playing? :p
No, seriously, I haven't search any level 3 ruins ever. Wouldn't even know where to start: building units with UL or upgrade hero? What's your strategy? (When, what maps, combination of upgrading hero and which units, ... ?)
Also, do you ever upgrade a DK or Valkyria to search ruins?
I guess I am not the only one in that position...

Options for exploring level 3:
1) Ghosts
2) mid/high Paly
3) Big pair o' 'nads
4) Wizards

Usually some combination thereof is used.

Never ever. If you want to search ruins, get a Paladin. I spend *all* my points on DK/Valkrie on learning so that they level up REALLY fast.

In version 0.8, my custom item will help with searching ruins. I predict it will be a *very* popular item.

You typically need a specialized Paladin in UL to search L3 ruins. You want at least a 25 score in UL from your hero + items + units with UL. Many L3 ruins are actually much easier than you think as they are not all filled with 8 Vampires, often there are only a 2-3 Ghouls inside or 2 Vampires.

Random Level 3's are usually not bad.

It's the ones set by conscientious players that you have to worry about, such as mine with their 6-11 Vampires...
