Also, Snotling, I believe it is possible to set more than one slot as the same production type. This is definitely more of an opportunity for cheese than a feature in any way.

Fixed if you hit F5 in your mapeditor. So it wont really take effect until next version i guess, but thanks for reporting :-)

Since map makers may not be aware of this 'feature' it might be a good idea to highlight the unit in the production screen in the map editor that will be the default guardian. A simply color difference should be enough to indicate that the right most unit is the one that's going to be the default guardian.

By putting back this feature you've broken the Waterworld map. I find it hard to believe Ezras meant to hand out a bunch of cities with Kraken/Serpent production with only 1 Lt Infantry guarding them. You might want to drop him a note telling him to look at this thread and then review the production on that map. Not sure if other maps he's done suffer the same problem but once he's aware he can check them all.

Adjusting the text to say that it uses the far right unit instead of the "most powerful unit" would help.

Maybe this is what I was thinking of:
"Place extra neutral units on the map as you wish. Be aware that all cities will be guarded by 1 unit of their best production when the game is initiated, so there is usually no need to add units to neutral cities."

Did a small update now to the mapeditor that will display the "Defualt defender" when you use the detailed production option... Hopefully should be pretty clear... :-)
