I think that a wall will be hard to use for that purpose, even if its 2 tiles wide it will seem strange that you cant fly over it.

I'm talking with hatch and he wants to draw a wall terrain with can be used as a nice looking ground barrier.

Not sure what could block fliers. Magic energy wall seems too cheesy. If fliers can't use roads, wouldn't that be enough?

That would definitely be a big balance help.

Still doesn't help with ridges where fliers can lurk on them forever without being attacked. I am still in favor of allowing attacks against flying units on ridges even if they can't do it against fliers on mountains/water-when-you-are-on-land. Just charge all the remaining movement for the ground units to attack fliers on a ridge with the minimum cost needed to attack being the type of ridge (snow ridge = snow cost, desert ridge = desert cost). So for example to attack into a desert ridge would require 3 moves, a snow ridge 4, a hills ridge 6 etc. Example: An Elf with 12 moves wants to attack a Crow on a Desert ridge. It has the 3 moves needed to make the attack and after it kills the crow it will be left with 0 moves (costs all movement to attack into a ridge). Next turn it can exit the ridge on either side.

Increase the Eagle anti-air and people will use them more to counter the lurkers on ridges...

MoonKnight,

It was already restored to it's former +22 value. So Eagles are 35 strength against fliers.

So produce some Eagles and get after them...I'm not sure why this is such a big deal, it's not like your opponent is the only one who can produce flying units.

None of this helps with the core problem for fliers: nothing, absolutely nothing, blocks fliers completely. I'm afraid the high wall is all I can come up with. Call it a "Magical Wall" if it is necessary. I think it is still least immersion-breaking if it still looks like a tall, physical wall.

High mountains are another possibility. Might be something to very seriously consider.

You mean nothing aesthetically pleasing blocks fliers. Since Lava blocks them quite nicely.

Let me amend the statement to say "nothing, absolutely nothing, stops all units."
