I tried to give every position a chance to succeed, I ran a few games with AI and each spot seemed to expand at about same pace. If anyone plays this map and finds any disadvantages in any position give me a heads up. Thanks.

I'd be willing to help test it out if you start up a game...

Played 2 games here now, one as Green and one as Cyan.

Night and day difference in expansion. As Green I am rocketing around the map (20 cities, 10 turns despite losing a couple of neutral battles) because there is no terrain to restrict my movement so I have about 2X as many cities as I did when playing Cyan.

My opponent both times starting in the snow and has had a very slow go of it (7 cities on turn 10). The game is over before we ever meet

The Green and Orange positions are going to need a lot tougher terrain to slow their expansion or the other colors need a lot more roads...

Green might be balanced by dropping a bridge or two.

Thanks for the feedback.

I submitted version 2.0. I eliminated roads around green and orange and added some more terrain to slow movement. I eliminated two bridges near green and added roads in the forest, the tundra and the desert areas.

Hopefully this will balance the map better.
