Why not simply offer turn limits 0.5 or 0.75 days? (or even freely choosen limits)

Without the feature, I only managed 3 day turn limits, because I have sometimes trouble on the weekends. Now I think I can actually play games with 1.5 day limit, provided I start the game at a time where I am certain to accumulate some turn time.

As I said above, I like 1 day delay and I don't need to wait more if I created a game with such short delay. This is applied to any type of games, ladder and not. But in current conditions, my opponent have ability - don't let me play with my lovely delay, because he can use his additional time.
If an opponent wish make his turn more often than once a day, I don't mind. But if he wish to think two days, I am not agree. I don't need anyone using his additional time and I wish to see it like a gold member's option. And if it is not, to buy it like an additional credits-buy option.

2 Phil. Hope you understand this time ;)
2 Chazar. 0.5 days delay is 2 turns a day. Not every one can play so.
You can create games with 3 days delay and have your weekend without any worries. And you will not bring any troubles to opponents.

Just a quick reply here :-)

1. NAPs will be modified in next version. It will be possible to attack units of a player you have a NAP agreement with, but not possible to attack cities or buildings.

2. Extra time is saved upon pressing end turn earlier than the expected (unmodified) end-time. Also, only gold-members save 100% (up to a maximum of 2 days / or the games standard-timeperiod). So in a game with 1 day turns, a goldmember can maximum save 24 hours (if they press end turn directly when it is their turn), and a normal user can only save a max of 25% = 6 hours.
For example, standard user A is playing a 1-day turntime game, and after 12h he presses end turn. he will then get 12*0.25=3h extra time on his next turn, i.e. 27h. So if he uses this extra time to max next turn, his two turns has taken 12 + 27 = 39 hours in total. Compared to if he wants to delay the game and always presses end turn as late as possible: 24 + 24 = 48 hours.

So there is no time added, only saved/stored to be used later on if needed. The overall gamespeed should be the same or probably a bit faster (since most players want to have some extra time saved just in case and therefore now have a reason to hit end turn asap)

I.e if a player/team wants to drag out a game, the best way is to press end turn as late as possible, and not use any extra time.

Game started with 1 day delay. A make my 1-st turn at 20-00 evening time and are waiting to open the game at the same evening time next day (if I can't play in the day time). Opponent made his 1-st turn at 24-00 evening time and, if he gold member, he saved 20 hours of adding time to the next turn.
Second day at 20-00 I made 2-nd turn. Opponent don't make his turn, he is waiting (for different reasons) 24+20 hours.
So, I opened the game at 20-00 3-rd day and see no turns. Upps... ("upps" number one)
Opponent make his 2-nd turn at 10-00 day time 3-rd day time and still has 6 added hours.
I open the game at 20-00 4-th day and make my 3-rd turn. Opponent don't make his turn, he use all of his additional time.
So, I open the game at 20-00 evening time 5-th day and see no turns. Upps... ("upps" number two)
Opponent make his 3-rd turn at 2-00 night time 5-th day.
Etc. So, too many "upps" will be in such a game, if one of players make his turns only in the same time (like 20-00 - 22-00 evening time).
Good if opponent making his turn earlier, have only 24 hours (set delay) and have no additional time to force his opponent to wait 2 days (when set delay is 1 day)

Igor, the ability to take longer on one turn than the time limit is conditional on finishing the previous turn early. There is no possible situation in which the player can drag the game out longer because of the saved time system. The only thing accomplished by the time saving system is adding flexibility to when the player can use his time.

The only way that it might take longer is that players don't have to worry quite so much about missing a turn, and are guaranteed the full benefit of their time. But the real problem is that you're impatient. I have been in the past too, but it's good to relax a bit toward Warbarons and let things run at a chill pace. If time weighs so heavily on your hands, go pick up some internet chess or something.

I like having extra time as a safety net in case something happens to my computer, or some other emergency prevents me from making my usual turns. If some players abuse this it will happen. For me I join enough games that I don't miss when a few don't play every day.

Also, some players take longer because they want more time to decide there strategy. I've especially noticed this with some of my team games-probably they are discussing team strategies together before moving.

What you may want to do is start making friends with players who play at your pace, and issue direct challenges to them for most of your games.

Smursh, you play fast enough. I see it in our current game. But some players can use additional time especially for to break the pace of the game when they are go to loose.
And if you worry about probable computer problem, just create/join games with 2 days delay.
Every one probably has his own lovely size of delay. Mine is 1 day and I would like to keep it if I created/joined a game with such setting. So I don't need any adding time to my opponent.

2 Phil. Looks like you forgot to read previous post. So, read it. And speak again ;)
