Vectoring

Sometimes it's pretty hard to tell where vectors go and not. Especially on big maps. To make it easier to see, we could just add some color to the squares surrounding the vectoring cities/the vectored cities. Green square goes to green circle/whatever, red square goes to red, with the lines colors still as they are, showing how many turns it will take.
Another function that could be added is showing the width of vectoring (illustrated by geometrical shapes). Within the first shape (with the selected city in the middle) is two turns (minimum), within the second shape is three turns etc.

When looking at allied cities no vectoring is showed at all. It says which cities are vectoring if you examine the troops, but there are no lines between the cities on the map.

Alternatively to coloring (which doesn't help the color blind and you run out of colors if you have a lot of vectors) the Vector map could just be made larger. No reason for it to be the same size as the mini-map.

I have the most problems with allied cities. I know I have units going there, but you can't tell from where. You have to get the city name, then pull up the overall list of city production to see who is sending there. The info is there, just a little cumbersome to get to.

Isn't there some sort of highlight when you move your cursor over cities that are vectoring or receiving a vector? That functionality simply needs to be improved, with an additional local list of vectors including arrows to/from the city selected. So you have a list like this:

City Name ------- Travel time label---------- Destination city name
Picture of Unit ====================> Normal display of arrival as it appears in cities now
---------------------Color coded arrow

City Name
Etc...

City Name
Etc...

Then when you hover over a city on the minimap the list entry is highlighted, and when you hover over a list entry the cities on the map are highlighted. Easy enough. When you have a specific city's menu open and view vectoring, you can see only the pertinent entries from the main list. All the information there at a glance.

LPhillips,

As noted by Smursh and Negern allied cities are the hardest part. You can't open the city menu in the same way you can one of your own cites.

But the concept of what you proposed makes sense if it can be extended to allied cities. And it would help if the vector map size could be increased slightly in the city menu to make vectoring and viewing the vector map easier.
