New Hero Abilty: Evasion

How about giving assassins an evasion ability? A percentage chance that whenever they are killed, they actually get away and show up next turn in the nearest controlled city?

This seems like a very strong ability to give the assassin. It also would reward poor play and recklessnes with your hero since there is less risk of death.

Not sure I agree. I kind of get annoyed about the quick death faced by many heroes at low level. Many games give heroes a kind of saving throw to avoid death. Adds flavor, and encourages heroes to mix it up a bit more. Could give it to *all* heroes at some low level, and give assassins a slightly higher escape chance. Especially with this ward ability coming in, and the 3 hit only thing, assassins may need the help.

The three hit thing was reviewed, and as of right now it looks like it will not happen. As for ward making the assassin less valuable, unless your opponent just uses rangers you still have an advantage against other heroes.

Besides, you have archons to counter leadership/dread. All this is is a way to counter ambush. seige weapons to counter wall bonuses, devils/unicorns to counter moral/fear. Why shouldn't a counter exist for ambush?
