I've played a pair of 1v1 games on this map. I already noted the 1v1 spawn problem due to having the game start players next to each other.

The other thing is this map is absurdly rich. By the time I had 30 cities my income was well over +1000 a turn and I was leaving tons of sites unconquered and lots of ruins unsearched. I know some of this is meant for 8 player game play but it's really over the top in a bigger way than Battlefield because you can move around on this map at 2-3x the speed you can on Battlefield thanks to road/water.

I would conclude that it's really not designed for, nor suitable for, a 1v1 map. In my opinion, the best solution is disabling that option. The second best solution is to start the players in the center, in close proximity to each other, so that there will be some expectation of a competitive game and not an unending accumulation of wealth punctuated by attempts to surprise the enemy across vast distances by way of roads and water.

Thanks for your comments. This map is designed for 8 player FFA and that\'s all.

As map creator, you have control over the map settings. You should release a version in which you use those settings to prevent map abuse.

I'm sorry; that last post was a little vague. More specifically: you need to restrict the game types permitted on the map and also set specific spawns for every game type. That is what the feature is for, and it's an important service to the community which all mapmakers should provide.

Thanks, LPhillips...I didn\'t know that about the game types.

NP. By the way, I think it still might make a pretty fun 1v1 map if you set the spawns carefully. I haven't played it enough to know what might constitute fair spawns, but I'd vote for two middle starts.

We just played a 4 vs. 4 team game on this, and very much enjoyed it. Yes, one player on each team was surrounded and just had to waste the enemies time to buy their teammates time -- but it was an interesting map.
