Thank you to everyone who gave suggestions and creative ideas on the original maps. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in playing the maps and voting. I learned a great deal when creating these maps and I hope my experience will pay off with better map design, balance and ultimately game play. Please keep giving suggestions on all of the maps that were submitted, hopefully they will become more polished with each new version. I look forward to more map making contests. :D

Well, we can open the floor for discussions about what you'd like to see in the next contest. I'd like to tie it in to v0.9 somehow.

v0.9? Do you mean that the map should be evaluated before it's submitted for the first time?

For the next contest, I think it'd be fun if a category was added. Judges of the competition could talk together and try to decide what kind of maps are needed and then set up a "theme category" or something like that. Could further increase the diversity of the map pool.

Also, I think the judges should get next to free hands in future competitions. Voting did not work out, and I don't believe it will work better until the community has gotten bigger. Just to increase the number of judges and the problem is solved. As long as they don't have a map in the category they're about to judge, it shouldn't be any problems. With a 1vs1 entry, the road to 1vs1 judging is closed, but FFA judging is ok.

I'd be glad to help out if help is needed.

Interesting 4v4 and 3v3 ladder maps!

I ask, because that's what I'm always looking for. And by 'interesting', I mean 'non-symetrical'. Maps such as Illuria, Hadesha and Westeros.

And yes, we could encourage the use of new 0.9 features as well.

Why wasn't the winning Hexagon map turned into a ladder map?

EDIT: Thanks, it is now available as a ladder map! 8-)
